Do you buy used costumes?

No, we do not purchase costumes. We only accept team sets of costumes on consignment from schools and dance studios.   We cannot accept individual costumes or single costumes from an individual’s personal collection.

Do you sell any of these costumes?

The only items available for sale are those listed in the Consignments for Sale and Clearance Sections of our website.

I have never rented before. How does this work?

After receiving confirmation that your order is available, the customer must submit a completed renter’s agreement or have completed it online when placing your order, provide us with a credit card on file as a security deposit until the costumes are returned, and full payment or a school purchase order. Once The Costume Closet has those items, we can pack and ship your order.

How long is the rental period and when is the costume due back to the Costume Closet?

You get the costumes for one month at the price shown. Each additional week is $5 per costume. All costumes are due back to the Costume Closet by 11pm on the date agreed upon.

How do I know if a certain item is available to rent?

We will need more information from you. We need to know the item number/product code, your performance dates, and how many you want to rent.

How soon before my performance should I place my order?

We recommend the earlier the better to ensure that you get the costumes you want.

How fast can I get my costumes?

We have everything in stock, so we can usually ship the next business day.

How quickly can I receive my items?

An order can be shipped overnight as long as the customer has a completed renter’s agreement on file with a credit card as the security deposit and full payment (or school PO).

How long do I get to keep the rented costumes?

The price displayed covers the cost of each costume, up to one month. If you need the costumes longer than one month, we suggest you schedule a virtual consultation so we can help you decide which extended rental option is best for you. You may also call us directly at 972-400-1282.

Do you accept credit cards?

Absolutely.

May I rent just one costume?

Unfortunately, no. Our order minimum is $100.

Who cleans the costumes?

You can pay a cleaning fee per costume, should you want The Costume Closet to wash them for you.  Otherwise, you are responsible for returning the costumes in the condition they were shipped. This means cleaning and making necessary repairs. Cleaning instructions will be included with the order. Most costumes should be hand washed and allowed to drip dry.

When is the costume due back to the Costume Closet?

All costumes are due back to the Costume Closet by 11pm on the date agreed upon.

I am interested in renting several items for my show. What is the best way to do that?

We suggest you schedule a virtual consultation so we can best assist you.

I am interested in purchasing a costume; however, it is listed as a rental only item. May I purchase it?

Most likely not, unless you are interested in purchasing all, or most, of the set. In that case, it is best to call our office to discuss it with us. You can reach us directly at 972-400-1282.

Do you carry children's sizes?

No, we only carry adult small, medium, and large costumes, with a few costumes available in extra small, extra large and an occasional large child. We do not rent children’s costumes.

Can we get a printed catalog sent to us?

No, our inventory is constantly changing, therefore our only catalog is online.
