As we get ready to kick off another year of choreography, competitions, and costumes, we wanted to take the time to introduce our team to your team!
Michelle
I fell in love with drill team as a Pearce Pacesetter in h
igh school, dancing under the inspiring direction of Ms. Lisa Owens Miller. That passion took me to the University of Oklahoma as a Pom Pom girl and later to the court as a Dallas Mavericks Dancer under the direction of drill team icon Joyce Pennington. But the heart of my journey? Serving as the drill team director at Berkner High School from 1988 to 2001. That’s where my love for dance and drill team truly grew.
In 1997, I launched The Costume Closet—a small side hustle to help drill team directors share and sell gently used performance costumes. As one of the first established, online costume companies, it quickly grew into a go-to resource for dance teams across the country looking for affordable, high-quality dancewear and performance costumes.
Today, The Costume Closet continues to serve directors, coaches, and performers nationwide. In 2024, I passed the day-to-day management to Aimee Losasso (one of my former officers!), while I returned to the classroom to teach English at Sherman High School. I still oversee operations and love staying connected to the dance world.
If you’re a drill team director looking for budget-friendly costumes with big-stage impact, I’ve got you covered.
Aimee

My name is Aimee (Welch) Losasso, and I have been the Office Manager at The Costume Closet since the summer of 2024. My drill team journey began at Berkner High School as a Bandolera under the direction of Michelle Davis—now the owner of The Costume Closet. From there, I became a Head Instructor for Starmakers Dance and Performance Camps as well as the Director of the JJ Pearce Pacesetters.
Drill team has always been close to my heart, and I continue to stay involved by judging tryouts across the Dallas metroplex and coaching officer candidates in interview preparation. When I’m not at work or mentoring, you can usually find me cheering on my two boys at their sporting events—because in the Losasso household, it’s all sports, all the time!
I love working with customers at The Costume Closet, and I can’t wait to help you bring your costuming visions to life!
Lauren
My name is Lauren Neaves, and I have been with The Costume Closet for the greater part of 20 years! As the Vendor Coordinator, my main role is to maintain our vendor status and secure new awards with school districts both here in Texas and across the country. Throughout my time with The Costume Closet, I have worked most roles within the company. In addition to working with vendors, I have packed orders, handled customer service, as well as managed the website. I’m a wife and homeschooling mama to my three kids, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be home raising my kiddos all while having a foot here in the dance world! Fun fact- I’m a former drill team girl of Michelle’s from 1998-2001!
Libby

As the newest addition to the Costume Closet team, I have been loving this opportunity to learn more about the company and all the incredible teams we serve! My job is to create fun, relevant and up-to-date content on all things Costume Closet via our emails and blogs. I can’t wait to share all the exciting things we have coming up and learn and grow alongside the company! Fun fact – I was on the JJ Pearce Mustang Stampede dance team!
Here at the Costume Closet, we aim to be your hassle-free partner for high-quality, eco-friendly, and performance-ready dance costumes – affordably priced to rent or buy. We are all looking forward to another strong season and can’t wait to connect with you all as the year goes on!
