Located in the heart of Plano, Texas, Destiny Devoted Dance is entering a successful eighth season. Led by owner, Meleka Simon, Destiny Devoted Dance fosters an encouraging environment for all dancers regardless of age or skill, with the end goal to inspire growth, confidence, and change.
Meleka will be the first to tell you that owning a dance studio requires hours of selfless, sacrificial work, with very little sleep! However, Destiny Devoted Dance has seen a lot of growth and success in their eight years as a studio. She encourages her teachers to always believe in your students, always believe their best, and stay true to your purpose and your why.
Meleka has 25 years of teaching dance behind her, teaching at 6 different studios and choreographing for many high school and college teams. When she decided to venture out on her own and open a studio, she started with just nine dancers in the company, but have since grown in numbers and skill. Last year, they competed with a production number for the first time and won every competition with it.
Destiny Devoted Dance prides themselves on being a close-knit dance family. They are passionate about inspiring the youth and cultivating a culture of acceptance, diversity, appreciation, and hard work. They endeavor to impact their students to be world-changers!
